چکیده
BackgroundOlecranon fractures are common and usually treated operatively either by tension band wiring (TBW) or plate fixation (PF). The aim of this study was to assess early complications reoperations their predictive factors related those operative methods.MethodsA retrospective analysis all patients with an olecranon fracture between 2007 2017 at Turku University hospital performed. Reoperations, postoperative complications, potential risk for these were recorded.ResultsA total 434 (387 TBW 47 PF) identified. There no statistically significant difference in the rate (49% vs. 62%, P = .262) (38% 53%, .079) PF. In group, intramedullary placement Kirschner (K)-wires predisposed compared transcortical K-wires according multivariate (odds ratio [OR] 1.94, .026). Younger age associated frequency reoperations, odds decreasing 24% every 10 years (P < .001). Further, high-energy trauma mechanisms reoperated more often low-energy (OR 2.99, .002). Also, excellent reduction higher reoperation than good fair 0.48, .033).ConclusionThere is a high both Transcortical positioning may reduce TBW. Olecranon methods. A recorded. .033).

A Prospective Randomised Control Trial for Comparison Between olecranon Lock Plate And Tension Band Wiring In Transverse olecranon Fractures
Introduction: Olecranon fractures are frequently encountered in the practice of orthopaedic surgery with a prevalence of 60% among patients with a fracture of the proximal ulna. Generally the treatment of choice for displaced olecranon fracture is open reduction and internal fixation. We report the result of a prospective Randomised Control Trial of Forty patients, who were treated either by Te...
متن کاملPlate osteosynthesis for severe olecranon fractures.
PURPOSE To review outcomes of 10 patients who underwent plate osteosynthesis for severe olecranon fractures. METHODS Records of 7 men and 3 women aged 33 to 73 years who underwent plate osteosynthesis for severe olecranon fractures were reviewed. All had some degree of soft-tissue injury; 6 presented with associated fractures. Seven patients were treated with a limited contact dynamic compres...
متن کاملEfficacy and safety of tension band wiring versus plate fixation in olecranon fractures: a systematic review and meta-analysis
BACKGROUND Olecranon fracture (OF) is a common upper limb fracture, and the most commonly used techniques are still tension band wiring (TBW) and plate fixation (PF). The aim of the current study is to discuss whether TBW or PF technique of internal fixation is better in the treatment of OFs, using the method of meta-analysis. METHODS The eligible studies were acquired from PubMed, CNKI, Emba...
متن کاملComparison of tension band wiring and precontoured locking compression plate fixation in Mayo type IIA olecranon fractures.
Aim of the present study was to compare the clinical and radiographic outcome of tension band wiring and precontoured locking compression plate fixation in patients treated surgically for an isolated olecranon fractures type IIA according to the Mayo classification. Of 26 patients presenting with an isolated Mayo type IIA olecranon fracture, 13 underwent fixation with a precontoured locking com...
متن کاملOperative treatment of communited olecranon fractures using tension-band wiring and miniplate augmentation.
Olecranon fractures are intra-articular injuries that require anatomic restoration of the articular surface. For most simple noncomminuted transverse olecranon fractures, tension band wire fixation can provide a stable construct to allow for early joint range of motion. However, in comminuted olecranon fractures, it is difficult to provide a sufficient buttress for impacted articular fragments ...
